There are lots of resources out there, from websites to books, CDs and other recordings to YouTube clips, from facsimiles of primary documents to 'how to' lessons on-line. I'm not a big fan of reinventing the wheel, and I'd rather promote what other people are doing.
Online Links
Links for
- Primary documentation - scans of original manuscripts of musical notation
- Sheet music - websites with free musical scores in modern notation to download
- Articles - websites with articles, research, historical background, music theory and the like
- Practical - other people's websites that have useful stuff about vocal techniques, pronunciations and translations, making instruments, period musical performance techniques, etc.
Recordings and CDs
Reviews of the recordings I own (mostly Naxos brand - should add that I am a stockist for this brand.)
Instruments
My instruments, other people's instruments, where to find, where to buy, how far can you cheat with modern instruments, what to avoid. An ongoing thing.
